 OGSG, GIZ PARTNERSHIP YIELDING RESULTS -EDUCATION COMMISSIONER

Ogun State Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Prof. Abayomi Arigbabu has disclosed that the existing partnership with a German agency, Gesellschaft fur Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), has brought about socio-economic development and youth empowerment.


Prof. Arigbabu made this known during the Ogun State Joint Stakeholders’, Workshop, organised by GIZ Nigeria and ECOWAS Sustainable Economic Development Cluster (SEDEC), at Mitros Hotel and Residence, Abeokuta, stating that notable transformation into the technical education.

The Commissioner noted that the workshop was an avenue to strengthen their relationship, leveraging collective expertise and resources to maximise programme impact among the stakeholders, appreciating GIZ for taking interest in youth development.

Earlier in his remarks, his counterpart in Budget and Planning, Mr. Olaolu Olabimtan, represented by Permanent Secretary in the ministry, Mr. Olufunmilayo Dada enjoined stakeholders to be committed in the course of taking the state to greater height, adding that dedication and mutual respect by stakeholders would help overcome any challenge ahead.

Contributing, Commissioner for Industry, Trade and Investment, Hon. Adebola Sofela, represented by Permanent Secretary, Mr. Olu. Ola. Aikulola submitted that the insights and collaborative efforts from stakeholders like GIZ were invaluable in helping the state towards creating an enabling environment that would support business growth, talent development, and sustainable employment.

In their parts, the Cluster Coordinator, SEDEC, Marcus Wauschklitin, President of Organised Private Sector Network, Dr. Femi Egbesola and the State Controller, Federal Ministry of Labour and Employment, Mr. Enoch Nnamdi, lauded successful partnership drive of the state government, saying its sustenance would create more employment promotions in the state.
