Prompt Maintenance Of Truck By Industries Will Reduce Incessant Breakdown Of Vehicles On Roads- TRACE




Industries in Ogun State had been admonished to  cultivate habit of prompt maintenance of vehicles plying Ogun State road in order to avoid incessant vehicle break down which often leads to  accident and claims productive lives.

The Ogun West TRACE Commander, Cdr. Adekunle Ajibade ably represented by Ota TRACE Divisional Commander, Olaoke Victoria made this declaration during a routine training of truck drivers at NUSTANZA NIG LTD, Onibuku, by security agencies in Ogun West, saying some reckless drivers often ram into such abandoned vehicles unaware.

He said efforts must be made to evacuate any vehicle which develops  mechanical fault on the road in order to curb  drivers whose sights might have been blurred by foggy weather, especially during rains or harmattan or by too much of alcohol ram into such abandoned vehicles thereby leading to a fatal accident.

According to him, "having realized that record shows truck drivers were responsible for most accidents on major roads in the state, the TRACE Corps Commander/CEO mandated the Area Commander to ensure truck drivers of companies within our Command are routinely trained". 

He warned that drivers should avoid taking alcohol while driving adding that there is no reason why a reasonable driver who is not out a psychiatric case or highered killer should drive against the traffic rules.

He solicited for more supports from the  drivers by strictly adhering to traffic rules in order to reduce carnages on the our roads and shun aggressiveness with Government operatives on roads.


Also speaking, TRACE Officer Temitayo Ojo added that the implication of dangerous driving, especially to avoid traffic personnel on the road had led to many accidents citing a recent fatal accident that killed many people at iju Bridge, along Idiroko-Ota road when the truck driver involved was trying to manouvre on sighting a traffic personnel. 

Other traffic agencies present at the training include DRC Rasaq Tunde Olaleye, Deputy Route Commander NVIS officer, FRSC ota, Engr Olugbega Oluwatoyin.
