TRACE BOSS ASSURES SISTER AGENCIES OF CONTINUED SYNERGY AGAINST ROAD ACCIDENT

Commander and Chief Executive Officer of Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency (TRACE), Commander Olaseni Ogunyemi, has reiterated the agency’s commitment to strengthening its collaboration between the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) and other sister agencies, in controlling road crashes and accidents in the state.

Commander Ogunyemi made this known while receiving the new State Sector Commandant of FRSC, Commandant, Akinwunmi Fasakin in his office at the former OGTV complex, Ajebo Road, Abeokuta.

He stated that a collective effort was an antidote to ensure effective road safety for all and sundry, adding that TRACE Officers had been carrying out their responsibilities in managing traffic, reducing road crashes to the barest minimum, as well as saving lives and property of the people.

Responding, Corps Commandant, Fasakin, who lauded the activities of TRACE in the state, said the cordial relationship between both agencies had been  yielding good results, disclosing that the agency would soon commence awareness campaign to primary and secondary schools across the state, to educate students on traffic laws and other related issues.

Highlight of the visit was a presentation of a plaque by Commander Ogunyemi to the FRSC Commander, to mark the comradeship between the two agencies.

In the same vein, Commander Ogunyemi has urged the management of National Open University, (NOUN), Abeokuta Study Centre, to engage in road safety advocacy and educate its students on dangers inherent in using vehicles to obstruct free-flow of traffic.

He stated this in Abeokuta, while playing host to the new Centre Director of the University, Dr. Oyedele Adegboyede.

Earlier, Dr. Oyedele said the visit was to seek support of TRACE in curbing indiscriminate parking of vehicles in front of the institution, commending the operatives of the agency for being proactive in the discharge of their duties.
