AOLG SHINES AT OGUN STATE LOCAL GOVERNMENT SERVICE AWARD OF EXCELLENCE
Ado Odo Ota Local Government bagged two separate departmental awards at the recently concluded year 2024 Ogun State Local Government Service Award of Excellence and Gala Night organized by the Ogun State Local Government Service Commission.
The Director of Agriculture and Natural Resources Ado Odo Ota Local Government Mr kikisagbe Kayode FCPA was awarded the "Most Outstanding Agricultural Person of the year" for the second time running and the award was presented by the Ogun State Head of Service Mr Kehinde Onasanya while the Director of General Services and Administration Mr Adebisi Akinde FCIA of the same local government was awarded the Outstanding Human Resources Manager of the year which was presented by the Permanent Secretary of the Bureau of Local Government Pensions Engr. Osiyale Olufisan.
The Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun CON, ably represented by His Deputy, Engr. Noimot Salako- Oyedele appreciated the leadership and members of the State Local Government Service Commission for the success of the Award of Excellence and Gala Night which was the grand finale of the annual Ogun State Local Government Service Week
The Governor appreciated President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR, for his gracious endorsement of the Supreme Court's decision, which affirmed the constitutional autonomy of Local Governments. He added that the immense contribution of the Local Government to the development of Ogun State is highly appreciated at all times.
The Governor added that his administration is on course to revitalize and reposition the Local Government Service for effectiveness, sustainability and resilience.
Earlier speaking, the Chairman, Ogun Local Government Service Commission, Ms Olivia Olubukunola Onabanjo commended His Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun CON, the Executive Governor of Ogun State for His unwavering support, describing his leadership as a beacon of guidance allowing her administration in the Commission to uphold integrity and excellence at the Local Government level.
Ms Olivia Onabanjo listed her achievements in office to include clearing of backlog of Promotion, comprehensive training programmes amongst many others.
In her words" The Local Government Service Week is much more than an event, it is a reflection of our mission to bring governance closer to the people" she added that local government is where real change is felt, where needs of the people are met daily.
While congratulating staffers and the gathering for the success of the service week the Chairman urged leaders, staff, Community members and stakeholders to recommit their selves and work together to build stronger communities , improved service delivery and ensure that the impact is felt in every nooks and crannies of Ogun State.
It will be recalled that Ado Odo Ota Local Government won the Best Local Government of the year and equally bagged five additional departmental awards during the year 2023 Ogun State Local Government Service Award of Excellence.
Dignitaries at the event include, the wife of the State Governor, Mrs. Bamidele Abiodun, Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Daisi Elemide, Member of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Hon . Joseph Adegbesan , Ogun State Head of Service, Mr. Kehinde Olufemi Onasanya, Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Hon. Sesan Fagbayi, Full Time Commissioners in the LGSC, retired and serving Permanent Secretaries , Top Government functionaries, and Directors in the LGSC. Others are Royal fathers, Captains of Industries amongst others.
