FRSC, TRACE GET ROAD SAFETY MATERIALS AS DONATION FROM IDL

 

Furtherance to maintaining traffic orderliness on our roads,the Intercontinental Distilleries Limited (IDL) has donated multi-million road traffic control materials to Ogun State Command of Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) and Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency (TRACE).



The  Head of Operations,Intercontinental Distilleries Limited (IDL Chief Adesina Adegoke, while handling over the materials  including big and safety medium cones, safety fence and No parking reserved sand/water fillable barricades to the agencies representatives in Ota, said the donation was part of the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility which aimed at encouraging smooth operations of the two giant traffic management agencies within its jurisdiction.

“We always performed creditably well in ensuring traffic safety on Ogun State roads, especially in Oju Ore, Sango-Ota under bridge and other axis leading to the company’s factory along ever-busy Idiroko expressway", he said.

Chief Adegoke added that even in difficult times, the TRACE personnel were dutiful, and this was what propelled the company to offer support in the area of providing road traffic control materials to them. “We produce products which give people enjoyment, essentially we make people happy. We have decided to spread that happiness to FRSC and TRACE.


“We know the difficult job they are doing, we want to make that job easier by support them with road traffic control materials. This is part of our company’s Corporate Social Responsibility.



“We are here to appreciate you and we say welldone.We believe the tools will be useful and support your activities, and it is hope to do more in order to make our roads safe,” Chief Adegoke, concluded.


Receiving the materials on behalf of the TRACE Commander/Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Cdr Olaseni Ogunyemi, Ogun West Area Commander, Cdr. Ajibade Adekunle appreciated the IDL management for the gesture, adding that it was not the first time the company would be doing this. He commended the company’s management over their concerns for safety of all road users,  saying safety on the road should be everybody’s business.



He promised that the road traffic control materials would be deployed into good use, urging like Oliver Twist that TRACE would still need more of such support so as to reach all the commands in the state.


“We still need more of these sorts of road traffic control materials, so that it could go round. I know it is very expensive. We are appealing to other companies, individuals and other road traffic stakeholders to replicate this gesture which will definitely have positive impact in making the road more safe for the users,” Cdr Ajibade said.
