 OGSG APPLAUDS NGO FOR CONTRIBUTING TO EDUCATIONAL DEVELOPMENT

Ogun State government has applauded a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO), Adebiyi Habib Foundation (AHF), for contributing towards child educational development through its scholarship programmes.


Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Prof. Abayomi Arigbabu, gave the commendation during the grand finale of the AHF Essay/Debate Competition, with the theme, "Modern Day Technology To Education", saying not many people could dedicate their resources towards impacting the lives of others.

Prof. Arigbabu noted that the theme was apt at the present day of technology inclination, adding that technology must be integrated to achieve notable progress.

"These days, you can hardly do things without technology. People hold meetings, attend conferences all over the world without being physically present, all these were made possible via technological platforms", he said.

 He commended participants at the debate for their excellent performance, emphasising that it was high-time learners embraced opportunities provided by technology for them to excel.

 In his remarks, founder of AHF, Barr. Adebiyi Habib, said the foundation was committed to enhancing educational standard for young individuals, while focusing on addressing the challenges and barriers in education, ranging from research-driven projects to interactive competition, mentorship sessions and technology integration, appreciating the state government for its unflinching support towards ensuring that education was taken to enviable pedestal.

Appreciating the foundation, winners of the competition, Samuel Ojo from African Church Grammar School, Ita-Iyalode; the first and second runner up, Jadesola Oladesu and Damifunre Ajibade, respectively, both from Abeokuta Girls Grammar School (AGGS) Senior, Onikolobo, all in Abeokuta, said it was a privilege to showcase their abilities.
