HON. AVOSEH SOUGHT FOR HARMONIOUS RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN EXECUTIVE COUNCIL AND INAUGURATED 9TH LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL 

The Executive Chairman of Ipokia Local Government, Hon. Johnson Akohomeh Avoseh AKA Cornerstone has sought for co-operation  between Legislative Council  and Executive Council  with the sole aim of taking the Local Government to an enviable height.

Hon. Avoseh, made this call in the proclamation address he delivered during the inauguration of the 9th Legislative Council of Ipokia Local Government, which was held on 25th November, 2024 at Legislative Chember, Ipokia. 

Cornerstone charged the two arms to serve diligently and with utmost sincerity while congratulating the Honourable Councillors on their success at the last Local Government polls.

 Hon. Avoseh charged the honourable House to evolve  bye- Laws that will bring succour and development to the life of ordinary citizens of the Local Government. 

In his Inaugural speech, the newly elected Leader of the 9th Legislature, Hon. Adeyanju Akeem Alamu,  from Ifonyintedo Ward, disclosed that the newly Inaugurated 9th Legislature is poised to work with the Executive arm and the Local Government Staff on a common front for the development of Ipokia Local Government.

He appreciated his colleagues on the confidence reposed on him and for making the election of the principal officers of the House hitch- free. He further thanked them for the maturity and understanding displayed, charged them to continue in that manner.

The following Honourable members emerged as the principal officers of the House : Hon. Nudamoyo Monday Doheto, Deputy Leader, from Tube Ward, Hon. Akala Sheeiff Opeyemi, Majority Leader, from Ipokia Ward 2, while  Hon. Balogun Daniel Olawale from Ihunbo/Ilase is the Chief Whip.

Mr. S. A. Solana, Chief  Magistrate with Ogun State Judiciary administered Oath of office on the new Legislative Council members.

The comprehensive list of members of the newly integrated Ninth Legislative  Council members are listed below:

- Hon. Adeyanju Akeem Alamu : Hon. Leader of the House, Ifonyintedo  Ward. 

- Hon. Nudamajo Monday Doheto : Deputy Leader, Tube ward . Hon Akala Sheriff Opeyemi, Majority Leader,  Ipokia Ward 2.

- Hon. Balogun Daniel Olawale: Chief  Whip, Ihunbo/ Ilase Ward

- Hon. Fagbenro Afees Awolowo: Ipokia Ward 1

- Hon.Hunkokoe suuru Ezekiel:Maun Ward 2.

- Hon. Toheeb Olabode Odunbaku: Agosasa Ward .

- Hon.Sonyingbe Sewanu Folorunso: Ijofin/Idosa Ward 

- Hon.Nutayi Ebenezer Babatunde: Maun 1.

- Hon.Adio Kehinde Adeniyi : Idiroko Ward.

- Hon. Whensu Josiah Oluwadamilare: Agada ward . Hon. Agboku Olusegun James : Ajekunle ward .

In her welcom address, the clerk of the Legislative Council Mrs Adegbenro Basirat Aedoyin charged the Honourable Councillors to engaed in sound and solid Legislation that will better the lives of the teeming public of Ipokia Local Government.

She remarks, that this is the way they can reciprocate the overwhelming support of the electorates that was given during the last polls.

She also educates the house on their responsibilities enjoined them to be had working, dedicated and eschew all forms of fighting, backbiting, destructive criticisms and self interest in order not to act at the detriment of the masses.

The event was witnessed by the Career officers and Political Stalwarts, that includes, Hon. Mathew Akovoyon, Hon. Bolarinwa Sokenu and immediate past Executive Chairman, Hon. Wasiu Olawale Agbetokun, Hon. Taiwo Wepetoji, Hon. Babajide Olusola Johnson and Hon. Kamorun Oduntan.
