Ado-Odo/Ota LG Boss Charges Youths to Shun Social Vices
The Chairman of Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government, Hon. Lawal Adewale Wasiu FCA, has emphasized the importance of youths imbibing good character and upholding cultural values to foster youth and national development.
The Local Government boss, Alhaji Lawal made this call during a courtesy visit by the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Branch executives at his office in the Secretariat, Ota.
Hon. Lawal Wasiu stressed that youths can become agents of change and contribute meaningfully to national development emphasizing the need to curb social vices and promote positive values and behaviours.
He said his administration aims to inspire youths to become active participants in developing their communities in the Council area and the nation calling on the NYCN to forward their requests, including office accommodations, subventions, and financial assistance for a youth summit.
Earlier speaking, the NYCN Coordinator, Comrade Oparotimi Kazeem, presented the youths' requests and congratulated the Chairman on his recent election victory decorating the Chairman as the Grand Patron of the NYCN alongside the presentation of the NYCN Constitution.
Responding, Head of Community and Social Development Department Mrs. Adeosun Racheal, while appreciating the Chairman's warm reception and encouraging words, prayed for a successful tenure as well encouraged the youths to strictly adhere to the Local Government's boss advice.
