Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government promises to work with farmers' associations to increase crop production and establish farm settlements
The Executive Chairman of Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government, Alhaji Lawal Wasiu, emphasized the importance of boosting farm produce to combat food scarcity and enhance human capacity in Nigeria.
Alhaji Lawal Wasiu pledged his administration's support to collaborate with the farmers' association, ensuring increased crop production and establishment of a farm settlement in the area. He also promised adequate grants to enhance food production, encouraging the association to think innovatively to make the project successful.
The Chairman, Alhaji Lawal Wasiu made this known during a visit by the Ogun West Mechanized Farmers' Union, Ado-Odo/Ota Chapter, at the Secretariat in Ota.
Lawal said his administration would ensure all hands, on deck to collaborate with the farmers association to boost crops production and put in place a farm settlement in the area.
He assured the farmers in the area the adequate grants to enhance food production adding that the association should put on their thinking cap to make the project an achievable exercise.
The Chairman of Ogun West Mechanized Farmers' Union, Pastor Afolabi Moses acknowledged the challenges faced by farmers, including funding, inadequate farm lands, and limitations in organizing training and seminars commending Alhaji Lawal Wasiu's address, stating that it addressed the association's concerns.
He promised that they will go extra miles in making the project a successful exercise adding that the present administration with the set agenda will be an enviable one among the comity of Local Governments in the State.
