Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Reiterates Commitment to Security through Partnership with Nigeria Immigration Service*
The Executive Chairman, Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government, Alhaji Lawal Wasiu has reiterated the readiness of his Administration to collaborate with the Nigeria Immigration Service to curb insecurity and illegal migrants within the Council area.
The Local Government Boss, Alhaji Lawal Wasiu made this statement during a visit by the comptroller of Nigeria Immigration Service NIS, Ogun State Command , Aliyu Muhammed Akadiri, to his office at the Secretariat in Ota.
Lawal said it is imperative for any administration to synergies with the security agents in order to secure life and property of the citizens which is the bane of socio- economic prowess of any society.
He commended the approach of the NIS Boss for reaching out to the government at the local level assuring of synergy between the Council and NIS for the betterment of the residents of the Local Government area in particular and the State as a whole.
Earlier speaking, the State Comptroller Aliyu Muhammed Akadiri commended the Local Government efforts at promoting peace and order within the Council area highlightened the critical roles that local authorities play in maintaining national security.
According to him "the commitment of the Nigeria Immigration Service in supporting initiatives aimed at tackling illegal migration, human trafficking, and other immigration related issues within the Council area is crucial as the Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government is not to far to other countries".
He called on the attention of the Council Boss to the vandalization of the Nigeria Immigration Service Office at Agbara by miscreants who has been on rampage at the axis and the need to curb the incessant actions of the unscrupulous elements in the society by making them face the wrath of law.
