OGUN REITERATES COMMITMENT TO REFORM PUBLIC SERVANTS

Ogun State Government has reiterated its commitment to re-orientate public servants in all divisions of government through its Reform Agency to improve their service delivery and be change agents in their various ministries.

The Permanent Secretary, Bureau of Public Service Reforms, Mr. Oyejola Oyeneye, during an interview with newsmen in Abeokuta, said the reform programme became imperative as human population increased on daily basis with different dynamics.

Mr. Oyeneye stated that, the existence of the Bureau in the state had brought the concept of growth mindset in the operations of many agencies and parastatals of government, pointing out that part of its benefit was the need for the establishment and accessibility of the public to different government online applications which fast track transaction processes and hasten service delivery.

"Ogun State was among the first to adopt reforms which is important for a developing state in order to become relevant in the present era," he said.

The Permanent Secretary explained that different series of survey were carried out on the types of reform to be done in particular agencies together with trainings on the need to embrace growth mindset, noting that it became necessary to move from the old method of operation to a modern one.

He appreciated the State government for its improved policy as well as the welfare of staff, adding that the present administration had achieved a lot through its effort to align with a progressive minded public service in the state.

The reform boss added that, in the nearest future, civil servants in the state would become more of change agents than just public servants through the efforts of the present administration.
