 ABIODUN SWEARS-IN ENERGY ENGINEER TO BOOST POWER SUPPLY

Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun has sworn-in the Special Adviser on Energy, to aid and boost the success of the light-up project being constructed by his administration towards ensuring regular supply of electricity across the State


The Governor, during the swearing-in ceremony at his office, said, government would continue to put in place all necessary machinery to Light-Up the State by providing a 24-hour uninterrupted Electric power supply.

The State helmsman revealed that the Abeokuta Metropolis would require more than 30 Megawatts, saying that it is the first phase of the proposed 100 Megawatts power generation capacity.

Earlier, the new Special Adviser to the Governor on Energy, Engr. Babajide Onakoya, at the inspection of the 30 Megawatts power plant project situated at Onijanganjangan, Obada Oko, in Ewekoro Local Government, said his office was set to achieve the targets of the State government, which include the development of all Light-Up initiatives in the State.

He stated that the Agro-Cargo Airport and its environs would enjoy uninterrupted power supply, as the current administration plans to develop the Ogun State Electricity distribution network to make it buoyant and viable.

Engr. Onakoya, while corroborating the State government on the project, revealed it was in collaboration with the private sector, as the first phase of the Light-Up project was in line with the promise to provide uninterrupted power supply to major cities and towns across the State.

Onakoya promised that the proposed law setting up the Ogun State Electricity Regulatory Commission (OGSERC) would be overseeing all the activities of the power sector in Ogun State, adding that the agency would provide oversight to private investors ready to invest in power business in the State.
