*Ado-Odo/Ota LG Chairman Presents ₦12,628,933,900 As Fiscal Budget for 2025*
Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Chairman, Hon. Lawal Adewale Wasiu, has presented a proposed budget of ₦12 billion,628million, 933 thousand,900 hundred naira being the first fiscal policy to be fully presented by this administration for the year 2025 aims to transform the local government through strategic investments in key areas.
Hon. Lawal Wasiu made the presentation at the Legislative Chamber of the Local Government Secretariat tagged, " The budget of transformation", stating the proposed estimate represents his administration's aspirations towards the realization of a better Ado Odo Ota Local Government
According to Hon. Lawal Wasiu, the proposed budget will be financed through statutory allocation (₦11,380,483,900), Internally Generated Revenue (₦248,450,000), and aids from the State Government (₦1,000,000,000). The budget allocates ₦10,592,433,900 for recurrent expenditure, including personal costs, overhead costs (₦860,600,000), and revenue fund charges (₦8,195,000,000).
The Leader of Ado Odo Ota 9th Legislative Council, Hon. Gbadamosi Mutairu, commended the Chairman and his team for their efforts in preparing the fiscal proposal emphasizing that the budget seeks to address key areas such as infrastructure, education, healthcare, security, and economic empowerment.
According to him, "it is the duty of the Legislative Council constitutionally to scrutinize and ensure that the budget aligns with the principles of transparency, accountability and good governance emphasizing all Heads of Department must be prepared to defend the budgetary allocations for the their respective Departments when call upon".
As the local government with the largest industrial area and highest number of industries in Ogun State, Ado-Odo/Ota generates the highest Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) for the state adding that the successful implementation of this budget will be crucial in promoting development and bringing government closer to the people.
