Buhari, Tinubu in crucial phone call: What they discussed will surprise you

Former President Muhammadu Buhari has extended warm felicitations to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on his 73rd birthday, highlighting their longstanding political alliance and commending Tinubu’s contributions to Nigeria’s democratic growth.

In a telephone call on Friday, Buhari expressed his prayers for Tinubu’s long life, good health, and successful leadership, emphasizing that praying for the nation’s leader is a duty that benefits all citizens.

“When we pray for our leaders, we are praying for ourselves and the nation. We owe this to ourselves and the nation,” Buhari stated.

The former president also acknowledged Tinubu’s instrumental role in the formation of the All Progressives Congress (APC), crediting him and other party leaders for his own electoral success after multiple failed attempts at the presidency.

Buhari praised Tinubu as an entrepreneur, political strategist, and a “serial winner of democratic elections,” underscoring the president’s influence in shaping Nigeria’s political landscape.

Reflecting on the APC’s rise to power in 2015, Buhari said, “When Nigerians handed the baton of leadership to the APC, it was a mandate to lay the foundation for a new Nigeria where the poor get opportunities for a better future. I am glad that the vision is not lost.”

He also extended his best wishes to Tinubu, his family, and Nigerians as they mark the completion of Ramadan and prepare for the Eid celebrations.
