LASU Gets New Dean of Faculty of Communication and Media Studies
Professor Jide Peter Jimoh has been elected as the new Dean of the Faculty of Communication and Media Studies at Lagos State University (LASU).
The election, which was held at the Digital Media and Research Centre, Faculty of Communication and Media Studies, Ojo Campus, saw Professor Jimoh emerge as the unanimous choice for the position.
According to a statement released by the university, Professor Jimoh's emergence was ratified by the Board of Studies of the Faculty of Communication and Media Studies after due deliberation.
Professor Jimoh is set to take over from the outgoing Dean, Professor Sunday Olayinka Alawode, whose tenure expires on March 3, 2025. He will assume office on March 4, 2025.
In his acceptance speech, Professor Jimoh pledged to leverage his wealth of knowledge and leadership experience to drive advancement and foster excellence within the faculty and the university at large.
He also promised to uphold the values, standards, and processes that define the Faculty of Communication and Media Studies, while fostering an environment where academic excellence thrives.
Professor Jimoh emphasized his commitment to encouraging innovation and technology in service delivery, and pledged to promote and support the welfare of every faculty member, while defending the interest of all students within the framework of the university's regulations.
