 Ogun State Government Announces Third Round of Big Catch-Up (BCU) Immunization Exercise

The Ogun State Government has announced the third round of the Big Catch-Up (BCU) Immunization Exercise, scheduled to take place from Saturday, April 12th to Thursday, April 17th, 2025.

The Health Educator, Ado- Odo/Ota Local Government, Dr. Augustine Bankole made this declaration during the media chat at the Local Government Secretariat in Ota adding that the target group for this exercise includes children aged 0-59 months, and the participating local government areas are:

- Abeokuta South

- Ifo

- Ado-Odo/Ota

- Ijebu North

- Obafemi Owode

- Ipokia

- Yewa South

He added that in addition to the BCU immunization exercise, the HPV (Human Papillomavirus) vaccination is still ongoing across primary health care centers in the state saying this  vaccine is specifically for female children aged 9 years and aims to protect them from cervical cancer and related diseases.

Dr. Bankole emphasized that the state government urges all parents and caregivers residing in the aforementioned local government areas to present their eligible children at the nearest government-approved health facilities for vaccination.

He advised that the  Community leaders, health workers, and stakeholders are also encouraged to assist in disseminating this vital information to ensure every household is adequately informed.
