Tinubu, Fubara till 2031, say Rivers protesters

Another round of protest rocked the Town Area of Port Harcourt, Rivers State, on Tuesday where stakeholders appealed to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to reinstate suspended Governor Siminialayi Fubara and House of Assembly members.

The stakeholders under  the Port Harcourt Township Pressure Group insisted that President Tinubu and Fubara would remain in the office till 2031.

The protesters, who carried placards with various inscriptions, started their match  from Aggrey road, Old Port Harcourt Township.

Most of them were dressed in black displaying placards with inscriptions such as: “Together we stand for Governor Sim Fubara”; “We want back our Governor we all voted for”;  “Governor Fubara is the pride of Rivers People”; “Fubara, Tinubu till 2031”, among others.

The President, Port Harcourt Township United Pressure Group, Prince John Tamunokuro, said, “We appeal to the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria Bola Tinubu to reconsider his state of emergency proclamation upon Rivers.

“It was this clear from the onset that Rivers did not deserve a State of Emergency declaration when compared to Ondo, Edo, Plateau, Imo states”.
